Community Service Projects

Some of our Madera Corporate bookkeepers have volunteered to read to children through Literacy Lubbock at the Grooves Library. They are reading for one hour and in turn are blessing these sweet children and as well are, being blessed! Madera is participating in the 2014 Community Service Program through The Lubbock Apartment Association.

Volunteer… it does a heart good!

These pictures show a group of Goldman Sachs employees who spent their own time and money to furnish an apartment unit for a family at Jackson Branch. They came to the property to deliver the furniture and to spend some time with the family. Their daughter has sickle cell anemia. This illness has bankrupted their family which made them homeless and in the Family Gateway Program. Cathy Packard, the new Executive Director for Family Gateway, sent us these pictures along with a thank you from the family saying none of this would have been possible without the willingness of Madera to partner with Family Gateway.

Madera Residential in Fort Worth teamed up with the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) and SWAT departments and hosted a community egg hunt for the 76112 neighborhood on March 12th, 2016. Weather was a challenge which led to several entertainment cancellations. However, there was still a fire truck and SWAT vehicle for kids to play on, a police van for fingerprinting activities, a hula hoop contest, an egg hunt, face painting and lunch. There was also an Easter Bunny which was actually the lead maintenance from Woodstock. The FWPD participated in a game of catch with the children, cooked hot dogs, and fun was had by all. The managers did a great job putting this together! Many thanks to everyone who came together with creative ideas for this event. In the future, more events like this are to be planned and hosted by Madera, FWPD, and SWAT.
